Why this exists
Most therapists do not need an office seven days a week. They need the right one on the right days.
If you have looked for space in San Diego lately you know the shape of the problem. A private office in a neighborhood your clients will actually drive to runs seventeen hundred a month before you have bought a couch. Then you furnish it, wire it, insure it, and it sits empty four days a week while you do telehealth from your kitchen.
The alternative is hourly sublet rooms: fluorescent, anonymous, a different chair every week, a waiting room full of someone else's clients. Your people notice. You notice.
Unit 4 is the third option. A real office, finished the way you would finish it, on fixed days that are yours, for one number a month.
Flexibility
Pick your days. Keep them. Change them when your practice changes.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are open. Take one day to start and add a second when the caseload fills. Take all three and build a weekend practice around the clients who can only come on weekends, which is a lot of them. Your days run midnight to midnight, so a 7pm session on a Friday is just a session, not a special request. Swap a day with another member by email when life happens.

Jeni's downstairs, the North Park sign a block away, coffee on every corner, and a neighborhood that feels safe and alive at 8pm. Clients coming from Hillcrest, South Park, Normal Heights, Golden Hill and downtown are all under fifteen minutes. Street and lot parking are close.

The building is a 1920s North Park landmark: mosaic tile and marble in the lobby, a marble staircase, a quiet hallway upstairs. Your clients walk through the original GRANADA entrance, up one flight, and they are at your door. Come see it.

A short membership agreement, first month pro-rated, proof of liability insurance. Done in a day.

- Who else uses the room?
- Therapists. Unit 4 is a working therapy office Monday through Thursday. You never overlap with the other members: each person has fixed days, and the room is left tidy at the end of each one.
- Can I see clients in the evening?
- Yes. Your days run midnight to midnight, so evening sessions on your days are fine. Keycodes work around the clock.
- Is the building accessible?
- No. The offices are on the second floor of a 1920s building with stairs and no elevator. If a client cannot use stairs, this is not the right room for them.
- Where do clients wait?
- There is no separate waiting room. Most members schedule with a short gap between clients so the hallway stays quiet. Clients text on arrival and come straight up.
- What about parking?
- Street parking on University Avenue and the side streets, plus the public lots in North Park. A parking add-on may be available; ask when you tour.
- Can I change my days later?
- Yes, with agreement from the other Unit 4 members and a short written amendment. Swapping a single day with another member happens by email between you.
- What insurance do I need?
- General liability ($1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate) and, if you are licensed, professional liability at the usual limits for your profession. Most therapists already carry both.
- How long is the commitment?
- One year, then month to month with 30 days notice. The first partial month is pro-rated. Dues are paid on the first of each month by ACH, Zelle, check or card.
- Can I leave things in the office?
- Small personal items in the desk drawers, yes. The furniture, layout and art stay the same for everyone. If you want to change something, ask; we can usually work it out with the other members.
